Apostolos Raftopoulos, President of the Union of Working Consumers of Greece, is the keynote speaker at the event of the Municipality of Nikaia – Ag. I. Rentis for International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste on September 29th.
The President of EEKE referred to the food waste resulting from the production of food for human consumption but also to the waste resulting from the consumption of food, as well as the environmental, economic, social and moral impact. Then, data was given about who and how much contribute to food waste, and finally, referred to EEKE suggestions for reducing food waste and promoting food donation at the individual, Local Authorities and State level.
